No, Leaseful is not rental insurance.
We're a membership-based service that provides rental assistance to tenants facing temporary financial hardship, offering access to emergency rent support when it’s needed most.
After 90 days of continuous membership, you can submit a request for rental assistance.
Members can request assistance once every 180 days.
To be eligible for assistance, members must provide proof of temporary financial hardship, such as job loss, a medical emergency, or a family emergency (including illness or death). Applicants must also show proof of stable employment over the past 12 months, along with current income documentation. A valid lease agreement—or one that is about to be signed—is required, as well as an active Leaseful membership for a minimum of 90 days.
Your monthly cost is based on your monthly rent amount. This allows Leaseful to provide up to three months of rental assistance if needed. To find out your exact membership cost, use the Leaseful Calculator.
Unfortunately, once membership is no longer active, all Leaseful benefits for the tenant(s) cease. We regularly update landlords with membership information. Failure to uphold membership may result in early lease termination.
All approved rental assistance will be granted directly to the member’s landlord or property management company. There will be no funds directly given to the tenant.
